Cucamonga

Our drive out from Pasadena was a wet one; we almost cancelled the hike. The hike started out a little foggy and chilly at Icehouse Canyon trail at 7am. As we were ascending up the trail, the bright sun crept out. I didn’t bring my sunglasses, therefore, I was squinting the entire time. We took a snack break at the saddle and then continued up to the Cucamonga peak. The sign to the peak was easy to miss if you didn’t pay attention, even though it was just a few hundred feet away from the peak. When we got to the peak, it was just absolutely HEAVENLY AMAZING!!! It was like we were floating on top of the white carpet of puffy clouds over the gorgeous blue sky. In my past hike, I would see the smoggy city below. On this hike, it was totally beautiful! We ate our lunch, posed for some pictures, sat, absorbed, and admired the beauty of nature for a bit. Couldn’t ask for a better perfect view!!!
Our descend seemed like never ending. When we got to the parking lot, the fog started to form at 5pm. Our total round trip hike was 13 miles. We had to wait for a few more members. It was freezing cold!!! We were the last group the leave the parking lot at around 5:45pm. Nevertheless, we had an amazing day and everyone was safe!!! 🙂
