Hiked with a dog

Stepped off at 4am last Thursday to beat the heat. Beat the sun to the saddle. Only saw one other person going up, and about a dozen on the way down. Shasta got a little warm on the way down, but we took plenty of water/shade breaks and got back to the car before 11am.
