Cuyamaca Peak

I went to Cuyamaca Peak on Sunday, 8/2/20. My intention was to take the Lookout Fire Road both ways, but the Park Ranger that works at the booth at the entrance to Paso Picacho Campground was a total JERK and he kept telling me that Cuyamca Peak was closed and there is no way up there and it’s a “fineable offense” and if he sees me go up there, he’s going to fine me, etc. I have read extensively all online blogs about the status of the Lookout. fire Rd.  I know that technically it’s closed til October for construction, but I also know that the construction crews don’t work on the weekends. I also know the road has been partially paved. I also know that other hikers have done this hike VERY recently.  So
