Success. Carefully monitored weather and started hike at 5:45am. Off trail at 11:30am so no concerns about heat. Hiking poles (for downhills) and gloves (for mile 6 and 7) a good idea. Drank the full Camel Back of 100oz. All of which is to say if you can wait until fall for this hike, it’s a good idea. P.S. Great views, cool wild flowers. Saw 6 other hikers.
