Deception Hike

The hike was deceptive, the road was smooth and easy but the incline was a challenge. Rangers attended to one of the trails, we saw little bug release traps along the side of the road at the start. On this hike we discovered Ruth’s trail name, “walking bird” due to her peak interest in those types of animals. The weather was great, but must start early with sun protection. Walking poles and sticks helped along with plenty of water. The woods provided much welcome shade as we got closer to the top. On the way down we saw a scheduled burn off in the distance.
