6:15 am start up Mill Fork Canyon Trail to avoid the heat. Mostly successful. Encountered a snowfield right below the saddle, requiring some scrambling between switchbacks to avoid. Decided at the peak to make it a loop instead of out and back. Totally recommend doing the Deseret Peak Wilderness Loop. It added approximately one more mile and a couple hundred feet elevation, but the views are stunning – and we found Sego Lilies!
