Arrived on Sunday 4/11 at 7am and the lot was already getting full! Started with Devils Backbone, but would probably go the other way up and down Backbone to make it easier on the knees.  I watched hiker guy’s video before doing the trek, which was really helpful, but also kept the Alltrails map downloaded (and also a paper one just in case). Had my first pitstop for breakfast just past The Notch at the old ski lifts before heading up. Devil’s Backbone was beautiful and hardly had any snow. I brought my spikes but didn’t need them at all.

Took about 3 hours to get to the summit, and there were already a few groups of people. Everyone was in good spirits and excited! The views are something else. Glad there was still a little bit of snow at the top 🙂

Coming down was steep, sandy, and tough, but if you go slow, you got it. What a beautiful loop, did about 5 and a half hours of moving time, with an hour total break for two meal breaks. Loved this one a lot!
