Diablo’s in the Details

This was the most difficult of the 6 peaks in the challenge because we decided to tackle all 5 summits at Diablo, 16.8 miles and almost 5,000 ft of elevation! Olympic Peak was arduous but we were so fresh off the trail and got there expeditiously in time for a great 360 view including SF in the distance and the phallic Salesforce building. Eagle Peak is one of my favorites because of the thin ridge walk to get to to it. But Twin Peaks was preceded by a steep and surprising incline when when everyone was dreaming of beer and comfort food. We didn’t get to our cars until 5:30 but we were proud to have survived soles intact.
