Diamond Peak (never again)

This was the worst peak in this challenge so far! It took 3.5 hours to get there from Bend. The forest service roads were horrible. The hike itself starts out pretty normal. But once you reach the boulders and scree its very challenging! It took us 5 hours to the summit and 3 hours down. We all ending up falling on the way down, but escaped any serious injury. We got lost on the drive out in the dark. Definitely needed our 4 wheel drive Excursion. Family called search and rescue when we did not arrive home at our expected time. We had no cell service to notify anyone. Once we finally found hwy 58, we had cell service and search and rescue was notified that we were OK. It was a hell of a trip and one I wont do again!
