Hiked on earth day, park was more busy than usual due to events scheduled, peaceful once out on the trails though.  There are different options to get to Mt. Sizer, I hiked the AllTrails Frog Lake and Sizer Loop as shown.  If I were to do it over I would have gone clock wise to hike the steepest part “the short cut” with fresher legs and cooler temps.  Of note the section China Hole to Mahoney Meadows Road (about 1.5 miles) was slow going as you need to find your way along Coyote Creek.  I ended up crossing the creek several times as that was the best option for the conditions.  Creek level and current varied along the way, it was ankle to knee deep for me (I’m 5’4).

Mt. Sizer is really just a stop along the way, not the typical peak view you may get like Mt. Tam  or Diablo.  There are some wild flowers blooming at this time to enjoy.  There is a lot of open areas on trail with no shade, I would not want to hike this in the summer.  All in all an enjoyable hike with nice open views.
