Started at 7:30 am, and a finisher who summited for the sunrise, told me she saw fresh bear scat at mile 3.5 on the new trail. Never saw bear scat on the way up or down but had my bear spray ready just in case. There were some clouds in the sky obliterating any views of Rainier and it was a cool enjoyable day.
