El Cajon
Also on this hike
I’ve been wanting to hike this mountain for over 6 years, never got around to it till now.
Like the other hikers have mentioned, its pretty strenuous going to and coming back as well. Certain parts of the trail requires a good pair of hiking shoes as the rock trails can get loose and slippery. Water jugs were available before the 2 mile point.
The views are pretty much as you would expect, nice. Since it was a clear day, a 360 view of San Diego was perfect.
The best part was the boulder scramble to the top. You come to realize this isn’t your average hike when you have to find footing and maintain some balance up on these boulders. It was fun but movement up was slow.
Started the hike late, roughly 11:30 AM and made it back down by 4:30 PM, right before theu closed the gates.
