Hiked with a group

We accomplished our San Diego Six Pack of Peaks with this mountain! Considered the hardest hike in San Diego, the El Cajon Mountain Trail makes you work for it, even though the summit is only at 3,648 feet. It took us 5 hours to hike 11.4 miles with a 3,596 elevation gain. Aside from a great workout, the payoff was spectacular views from Palm Springs to Mexico. On top of the usual challenge, we unexpectedly found ourselves in a rain storm (hail, thunder & lightening too ????☔️) for the last 2.5 miles. We made it out completely drenched, but thankfully safe! What an adventure!
