El Cajon Mountain

This was my biggest yet. Started at 5:30am and in hind sight really would have loved to have traded an hour of sleep for an hour of heat at the end. The sun comes down on your back pretty hard on the return. This trail was well maintained.The hike itself is tough! A lot of steep ups and back down on your way to the summit. It’s beautiful and worth it. I feel accomplished as heck.Once to the top there were kind of a lot of what looked like flying ants. I’m sure there’s an actual name for these but they really came after me up there ! Really though, who cares. It’s beautiful and worth it. I feel accomplished as heck.
