El Cajon Mountain

Completed hike #5 of the SoCal Six Peak Challenge. Up today was El Cajon Mountain. Did this hike last year and it’s a butt kicker, but the satisfaction of completing the hike, along with the great views at the summit are so worth it. The 11 miles are a relentless roller coaster of inclines and downhill, so no breaks coming back. Make sure to bring plenty of water. Started at 6:45am to miss the heat and some of the crowds, since this was a Sunday hike, and made it back to the parking lot by 11:45am, including about 20 minutes up top for pix and a snack. In a sick kind of way, I love this hike.
