Elden in the Heat

Started just after 7:00am, parking lot was already full, and temps were already climbing. We timed our rest stops at the shady spots, which helped, but it was still a hot hike until we got up into the pines and fir. Weather was beautiful on top – not windy at all, but the sun was bearing down on us, so we had a quick picnic lunch at 9:45am and started back down shortly thereafter.
