Escaping COVID 19

Brilliant weather, great company with my friend Jo and a wonderful way to escape during COVID 19! Hike took us under 6 1/2 hrs and that included us taking a couple of wrong turns and adding some miles????. Hiked just under 15 miles.  Trail was packed down dirt most of the way and rocky for the last couple of miles up to Gray Butte. Felt so good to get away from all the pressures this year has brought to so many of us. We ate our lunch at the top enjoying the lovely views. Glad it wasn’t too warm as no shade all the way and happy we chose to set off early morning while it was cooler and parking wasn’t full. Loved this hike and the views at Smith Rock are always amazing. Take plenty of water, sunscreen and a hat!
