Fee Free on Wasson Peak

Hiking Wasson Peak on a fee-free day in Saguaro National Park was a great experience for me and my son. Even more, they were giving out a pin to everyone that hiked further than 3 miles so at 7 miles, we hit that mark! Temps were great and the trail was not very busy at all, even getting a chance to see a closed mineshaft along the trail. Would recommend starting early so you can get a parking spot as well as staying aware that the most challenging section is a series of switchbacks just past half-way on the ascent. Other than that, the trail was just a great hike.
