Feeling the Oats

This out and back hike was awesome – terrific views in all directions on a well maintained trail that was not too wet despite previous day’s rain and fog. The surf was huge and we could hear its energy well beyond the trailhead. There were some mountain bikers on this trail, but it was not too challenging to step off to let them pass as most had bells (just be aware). This trail connects to many others and I could imagine linking up to do a long day hike loop through Montana De Oro State Park. It’s a gem. We finished this hike then went down the road a bit to pick up the trailhead to Hazards Peak.
