Fire Road FTW

Hike was exactly the walk I needed coming off Mt. Whitney last week.  I wanted something smooth and the fire road provided exactly that.  Trail was in good condition.  I was the first one at the trailhead at 6:10am and started the hike at 6:20am.  I wore a headlamp for first 20 minutes before some light popped.  Weather was nice but wasn’t much of a factor for me since I was trying to get this done pretty fast and started early.  I did not see another person until I was on was 7.5 miles into the hike on my way back down and maybe encountered 10 people total but that was more towards the end of hike.
