First Steps

First of six peaks. My partner and I set out midmorning and reached the peak for lunch. Interesting views of San Jose and air traffic. I am a plane spotter so I found that enjoyable. Overall, felt trail was too crowded with too many people – especially at the peak. Neat history of mountain marked on trail and I found that this mountain’s name means humming bird in a book. I’d enjoy this hike more if I lived there and was just going for a jog as many were. I’m glad to have this one out of the way as it would be a let down after other more enjoyable hikes.
