Free as a bird up Fremont Saddle

I last hiked this trail in February after completing Flatiron for the first time – in the rain. I think Flatiron traumatized me because I remembered very little about Fremont except the saddle. This is a fairly rocky trail but at least (IMHO) it has a gradual climb. I was able to hike most of this without getting my heart rate too high or breathing too hard. I really enjoy trails that feature different environmental types and this one provided that for me. Trees, bushes, (dry) creekbeds, rock formations, etc..  Lots of cactus! I think this might be the easiest “summit” in the Winter Challenge but it’s one you should definitely enjoy if you haven’t made it here yet.
