Go go Gorgonio

Last year this hike was my penultimate goal. I didn’t believe it was in the cards for me when I started the challenge in 2025…fast forward to a year later and I made it to the summit on a last minute request from a friend of a friend. The weather looked perfect, so I said “let’s go!” My total time suffered due to my lack of high altitude preparation leading up to the hike, but I guided a new friend, went step by step, took it easy, had breaks and plenty of food and snacks to fuel us and we made it to the top! Always a bit of a mind fuck with the tail is 20 miles instead of 17 like All Trails promised, but we kept moving and supported each other and the other hikers on the trail we encountered.
