It was a rough ride on sandy roads to a tough, steep mountain. Mostly just steep for 2 miles, after that the trail gets harder to follow and turns into a scramble at times. Your reward for all this trouble is one of the most unique mountaintops ever. That isn’t snow on top, this one truly lives up to its name with all the quartz there is. But please, don’t take just any car to the trailhead!
