Grandeur Peak Loop! 1st peak of the Challenge!

I had read that this is a hike best done as an out and back from Mill Creek but I can never turn down a loop. The reviewers were correct and the best part of this hike was in Mill Creek canyon, but an adventure is always fun!
The first 2.5 miles were super steep up hill! It must be a common hike that people like to time because a few people passed us that were definitely pushing/ timing it. Would love to go back and try to do it faster. Once on top, views were beautiful and we found the Survey Monument. The next 5 miles we’re beautiful on an awesome trail with lots of shade. The last 1-2 were hard because the trail was not well marked and it took a lot of navigation. It was also really steep! Loved learning about a new Peak that is so close!
