Great day on Black Butte

Cloudy skies up north in Portland and Mt. Hood prevented us to go hiking so we headed down south toward Bend when forecast was better. Decided to start our trip with short hike to Black Butte. Parked at the Upper TH and headed uphill. This hike is fairly easy as it climbs steadily up toward the summit. Lots of wildflowers. Great views of Broken Top and The Sisters, also Mt. Jefferson and Mt. Hood in the distance. The summit has a active fire lookout on top. We made it up in an hour, enjoyed the views and after quick snack headed back down.
