The trailheads are closed for the season at Mt Charleston south loop there is limited roadside parking available nearby through the end of November. After that you’ll have to park at the Echo Trail head, which adds just short of another mile to the hike.

There was snow on Trail for the entirety, I was able to navigate up the switch backs to the saddle with just micro spikes. By 10 o’clock in the morning, the snow, it softened up in the sun and was frozen solid in the shade so I switched to crampons for the summit of Griffith. I was able to make it to the peak in about 4 1/2 to 5 hours after making good time I decided to try to summit Mount Charleston and was unable to do so. Highly recommend trekking poles micro spikes for Griffith peak.
