Helen Lake, are you for real?

The trail is pretty straight forward up to Horse Camp.  Horse camp has a Sierra Club cabin with interesting information inside to look at.  There is also a spring to fill your water bottle and composting bathrooms.  Saw a couple of deer in the meadow just past the cabin.  After the cabin the trail becomes steeper, once you hit the scree the trail is a little more difficult to follow at times due to use trails.  Once you arrive you will see snow covered Helen “Lake” and Lake Helen Base Camp which is a tenting area for those planning to summit Shasta.  The views along the way and at Lake Helen are great.
