Hey Mister Willllsonnnn!
Also on this hike
It was “raining” today so I decided to take my chances on Wilson with the hopes that any bugs would be minimal and the weather would stay mild. I hear the mosquitos can be pretty rough on this trail… and while they were definitely there, they didn’t bother me at all! Without any bug spray either. The majority of the trail seemed to be shaded, but it was hard to tell with the thick mist/rain floating around. However, this kept the trail cool all day long. You climb just above the clouds right at the peak for a unique view! (Can anyone tell me what peak is in the picture?) Sturtevant falls was beautiful.. although, the upper falls trail was a little overgrown and had a few sketchy rock ledges that were pretty slick with the rain. A couple spots turned into a bit of a scramble. The trail has several water crossings, but none deep enough to wet your shoes if you use the rocks/logs. Very little traffic for a Friday morning, mostly ran into mountain bikers going down the falls side and up the winter creek side. Make sure you hit up the tree swing at Sturtevant Camp. On to the next peak!
