Hiking out of the smoke…..

I really enjoyed this hike. Was a bit nervous, as we woke up engulfed in smoke from nearby fires – but as we hiked up, the air got clearer and clearer. So that was a lovely bonus!  The first 2/3 is the remains of an old fire, which turns out is very beautiful in its own right – we kept stopping to take photos!!!!  Then onto exposed volcanic rock. Stunning. Unfortunately, no views once again due to smoke – but I could well imagine they would be stunning!!!
