Hills, Hills and More Hills to Alan Peak!

It wasn’t really clear where to find the trailhead since one of the road gates was closed. We followed the directions from AllTrails and started at the Valencia Peak Trailhead. This is a LONG hike if you go all the way to Alan Peak. Once you arrive at Oats Peak (3 miles in) it is a constant roller coaster (up and down) from Oats Peak to Alan Peak. The views in the backcountry are stunning! However… knowing you are going that far back come prepared with bug spray. The signs warned of ticks and they are there! I pulled one off of my neck within the first 2 miles.
