Hot Springs – Awesome Views

The first couple of miles are the toughest, but after that its a hike under canopy of trees.  Gnats were an annoyance, so bring a face net.  Trail was perfectly maintained and parking is in a wide open campground with porta-potties.  What more could you ask for?  But, it was the top that was simply awesome.  Views in all directions.  Quick note – make sure you have $10 for each hiker to pay at the security entrance to the reservation.  Don’t count on having internet access.  The $10 is a deal considering the conditions of the road, parking / trail head area and the trail.  Oh, yeah, if forget the cash, there’s a market about 6 miles up the road that has an ATM (right, that was us….)
