Humbling

This was a challenging hike, with a humbling ascent. As the description noted, the first and last mile of the ascent are very challenging and rigorous. The trail was a mix of shade and coverage. There was a beautiful mile about 2.5 miles up that was fully shaded and cool, very green and and wet. It was a nice reprieve from the heat and sun that most of the trail provided. Views during the hike were pretty incredible, it was a little hazy but I could still see across the valley and Bay Area. The peak was a little underwhelming but there were some boulders/larger rocks that you can sit on for a break, eat a snack, and enjoy the view.
