I Wasn’t Ready But i Did It Anyway

I took advantage of Fabienne and Tony’s good natures and climbed on their permit. We met dark and early at the Jenks Lake trailhead. Ran into Eric and Kimberly there doing the lollipop route. Tony and Fabienne stuck with me swapping stories and lies until we got to the switchbacks heading up towards Dry Lake. They left me in the dust there. That was OK, we knew it was going to happen, and we’ve done it plenty of times. It wasn’t hard, but I was slow. I ran into Fabienne and Tony again as they were coming down at the South Fork/Vivian Creek junction and we took a picture. Then I ran into Eric and Kimberly just below the summit. Kimberly summited San G for the first time and completed her first 6 Pack. I took a couple of pictures at the top and had a snack and headed back down. I hoped that I would have a decent pace on the way down, but I am just as slow going down as going up. Still I got it done. Once back to the trailhead I drove down to the A&W for a root beer float.
