This was my second time hiking Mt. Wilson and I cannot for the life of me understand why this trail feels as if I went through a Spartan bootcamp.  The trail is deceptive. It begins along the river creeks and water falls. There are cabins nestled between large trees. I came across two deer as I was starting to make the incline. But halfway up, is when my mind decides to abandoned me and I can’t for the life remember why I decided to hike this trail. Oh yeah, the six-peak challenge, duh. And so, there was I was, cursing at every God that exist, even the ones that haven’t been created like Stone God because my feet some how kept tripping on little stones sticking out of the ground. The peak is lovely and I decided to check out the Mt. Wilson Observatory Astronomical Museum. In there you can see the model of the observatory and the Mt. Wilson landscape.  The way down seemed to take a million years and it did not help that the trail was partially damaged by recent fires. The last portion of it was a blur. I just remember getting in my car, my joints hurting and pretending that things were fine. Aren’t they always?
