In which we revisit the devil
Also on this hike
I had hope that this would be the second to my last hike of the six peak challenge, but it looks like it will be part of my six. The San Jacinto Peak had stunning views and it was covered in some snow making the hike extra nice. But five miles from the summit, a rock sticking out on the trail caused me to lose my balance and I ended up spraining my ankle. This was the devil’s work, but I pressed on and made it to the peak, admiring the 360 views for a short while. There were a lot of people but some folks just need a bit of hiking etiquette. A group of men just sat around the sign making it difficult for people to take photos. The hike took me 7 hours to complete, perhaps the longest time it’s taken me to finish a trail. I had to stop several times mostly to rest my injured ankle. But I did it. I hope to return to this trail when I’ll try to do the original six peak challenge.
