Interesting hike to Sitton Peak
Decided to hike Sitton Peak on a Friday evening before heading to more challenging ones over the weekend. Got stuck in the Friday afternoon traffic and couldn’t get to the parking lot across the Candy Store until 4:45 PM. Started my hike around 5 PM and got to the peak at 6:45 PM. It was a steady ascent all the way to 4 Corners and most of the times flat and was not as challenging. Once I got past the 4 Corners and ascending further, it takes you downhill to the bottom of Sitton Peak. It gets interesting here. You have to climb a few hundred feet to get to the peak and the trail is not well maintained with overgrown bushes. You barely get a grip for your foot to step on in some places. Once you get to the peak, you will forget everything with 360-degree views. I had only 5 minutes to spend in order to get back before it got dark. As I climbed down from the peak, it was very slippery and I was glad I brought my pole. The rest of the hike back was easy and I was able to get to the trailhead before 8:30 PM, right about when it was getting dark. Overall, it was a fun and interesting hike.
Very nice Prasad. Last one mile is interesting
