This hike provides great views at the peak. However, if you are looking for a tree covered green tunnel of goodness, tis hike is lacking. Most of the journey takes place on an exposed fire road. This is pleasant enough, but not my preference.
Do it for the views. Up and back, no lunch break necessary at the peak.
Get there EARLY!!!! The small parking lot was PACKED upon our completion.
