JMT Training: San G in the books!

Parking lot at 645AM…on trail shortly there after…reached High Creek for camp at 1045AM, set up camp, water supply and lunch.  At 12noon, with day packs ascended to the summit… reached the summit about 230PM with hiking partner @jacob-roper, enjoyed the views and people watching…saw the Smiley Fire across the valley in the Inland Empire.  Started descend to camp, reached camp at 5PM.  High Creek was tent city!  Kinda disappointing because it seemed several people were camping with no permits…we had ours.  I counted at least 25 people camping there and barking dogs.  Hike out was crowded with a lot up hill traffic.  Saw a deer at Vivian and some quail and of course chipmunks and squirrels, was hoping for a big horn.
