Lake Poway to Mt. Woodson Summit

Challenging hike for an amateur hiker like myself but so worth it for the view! Incline most of the hike with steep, stair-like sections closer to the peak. Potato Chip Rock is an interesting formation but you have to leap or crawl to the rock itself for one of those iconic photos as well as wait in a line. Beautiful chaparral community with tons of Manzanita and pines at the summit. However all the electrical towers are an eyesore. Otherwise you can see out to the ocean and horizon from the peak-very beautiful. Would be worth doing again early and on a weekday when it’s less busy.
