Little Squish conquered his longest hike yesterday; Cuyamaca Peak via Arroyo Secco and Monument Trail.  The trail was absolutely gorgeous; started out on a little spur, then Monument Trail/West Side Loop.  Headed up the old Burnt Pine fire road to the top.  Summit is still closed but we were so close we could taste it.  We’ll be back to officially bag the peak when it opens up again.  Chilly at the top, but not terrible.  Amazing views.  All in all, a 14 mile loop as we headed back through Arroyo Secco.  Something like 2800 feet elevation gain.  Dawgs weren’t even barking when it was over, though by the time we were done, the baby had a LOT to say about what had transpired.
