Long drive for a short hike

A surprisingly good workout.  Up was all we knew on the way up, which got the heart rate going.  Even though the starting temperature was in the 30’s when we got there first thin in the morning, we were soon stripping off our layers as we walked. Beautiful views all around.  I loved that they posted signs so you could identify the nearby peaks.  The only bummer is that we wanted to knock two peaks out in one day but Cuyamaca was closed, which means … one more trip to Julian for MORE apple pie!  Gorgeous oak trees and even a little cedar forest which provided a brief bit of shade.
