I followed All Trails directed mapping through Apple Maps and it took be PAST the “Magee Trailhead” marker on the National Forest fire road. It probably added 3 miles to the hike total (in and out) and there was a some bush whacking to get to the marked trailhead. Fire road to start and then navigating over dead fall to get to trailhead. You could sort of make out beaten path but had to rely in instinct a bit – not too tough. Trail itself was fantastic. Nice mix of forest and open high alpine. Trail easy to follow and in good condition. Really enjoyed this hike – my final of the 6 pack.
