Mailbox Peak

The old mailbox peak trail is rough and strenuous, but I loved the challenge. We went on a socked in morning so it was cold and we were in the clouds. We went up old trail and down new trail. I went to take a picture at one point on our way down to show how steep it was and proceeded to  drop my phone, it went sailing down the mountain about a 100 yard hit a tree well and we lost sight of it. The tree was just in front of a drop off. So my heart was thumping needless to say. I started running in my crampons and trip over the strap, got back up and made it down to where I last saw it. Couldn’t find it my friend called it and it was near by because my watch was ring. Luckily we found it and that was the end of me pulling out my phone for pictures until we were back in tree line. The rest of the hike was uneventful, just the way I like it.
