Mega Cucamonga

Easy, straightforward hike to Icehouse Saddle. Beautiful frozen pine scenery at the beginning, passing a handful of picturesque little cabins. Snow coverage was pretty consistent past the Saddle. Conditions were a bit treacherous at points. Bringing my ice axe was a good idea, would’ve had to self-arrest if I slipped. I joined some people I met at the Saddle but we got a bit turned around and accidently summited Bighorn. They turned around after that, I made my way to Cucamonga alone. The Bighorn detour added about 2 hours to my hike, but it was worth it to bag the peak. Beautiful views through the whole hike, can’t wait to revisit in the summer.
