Memorial Day on Monadnock

3️⃣ down, 3️⃣ to go for my @sixpackofpeaks challenge! Number three in the books is @mtmonadnock via Pumpelly Trail. All 8.3 miles out and back were beautiful. It starts with a very easy slow ascension the first mile and then a stairway to heaven in mile 2 gets the heart pumping. From there it’s a steady climb with amazing views along the ridgeline and many peaks to stop and look out. This trail is very very lightly trafficked – I ran into three people the entire trail! Park along lake road by the trailhead and pay 0️⃣ for parking.
It’s a beautiful trail, not well marked throughout but still quite easy to navigate, especially if you use AllTrails.
