Mission accomplished, Charleston Peak had been summited!
Also on this hike
Long! Â This is the highest peak I have summited and by far the most difficult. The final peak in my six peak challenge so I was determined to make it to the top. The weather was cool, sunny In the morning then a dark cloud formed over the peak and then mostly cloud coverage from then on. Made it to the top around 1:30 PM, and encountered many other hikers at the summit most of which came from the south loop. The weather changes on top very quickly, he went from cool to very pleasant and then cold again. On the way down we encountered some light snow flurries. The fall colors were a bonus and the cool fall weather was a plus. Glad to have this one checked off my list. The views from the top are amazing and the hike down is long and painful.
