Mission (Not) Impossible

Seven women from the Bay Area Women’s Mid-Week Hiking Group traveled from around the Bay Area to meet at Ohlone College – our chosen trailhead for the hike to Mission Peak. We started – and remained – under cloudy skies, but the clouds stayed high enough for us to still enjoy some sweeping views offered at the summit. With the clouds came cooler temperatures and breezes, which was a bonus on this exposed trail.

Members in our group have hiked Mission Peak numerous times – in different seasons and in different weather — and the sight of cows against the vibrant green rolling hills is always fun!

Although there were plenty of people out, the trail never felt overly crowded. Rather, we appreciated the relaxed, friendly atmosphere – and cheerful banter – with many of the other hikers.

 Mission Peak is our second peak of the season and a great warmup hike for the four San Francisco Bay Area Six Peaks to come.
