Six Pack of Peaks: New England 2025

Mount Chocorua

I started my hike at Piper Trail. Indecisive on which way I’d be coming back down I would decide up at summit. Weather looked like there would be some overcast may be some light drizzles here and there and expected some wet conditions. It was comfortably cool, but it was nice to see some blue skies n sun trying to pop out from the clouds.  Cooler temps really helped me reach Chocorua summit with minimal overheating. There was water flowing. Trails had some mud and water but there were some dry patches. Nearing summit some small patches of snow that didn’t melt from last snow fall. Piper  Trail was definitely a nice hike. Started gradually through the woods, up large rock formations and rock slabs as I reached the ridge. Followed the ridge to the summits where I was welcomed by 360 views of closer mountains and some mountains off in the distance. Saw some hikers on trails. It’s nice to see another day of greens and flowers starting to grow. Near summit winds were picking up and off in the distance clouds were starting to break more and gave hope for more sun later in the day. At the summit I stopped to take in the views before heading back down to the car. I decided to make this hike a loop hike going down Liberty Trail, Hammond Trail, Weetamoo Trail and back onto Piper Trail. It was nice to see the water flowing down stream beds and see little falls and cascades. Definitely a beautiful hike and Welch-Dickey didn’t disappoint.
