Mount Diablo

I wanted to get my weekly hike in before the heat wave arrived in the Bay Area this week. I started in Ed R. Levin County Park, hiked up to Monument Peak, and then headed north to Mission Peak. I felt pretty good — not winded at all — which means I might be ready for some of the crazy hikes I’ll be doing next month…

One nice thing about hiking Mission Peak on an overcast weekday is that there was no line of people taking photos of the Mission Peeker. For a few minutes in fact, I was the only person at the summit.
